Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the MARGIN application (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

2. Service Description

MARGIN is a calendar inbox application that helps you turn screenshots and text into calendar events. The App provides the following features:

• Receive screenshots and text via Share Sheet
• AI-powered event recognition (title, date, time)
• Pending event list management
• One-tap confirmation to add to system calendar
• Daily briefing (view today's schedule summary)
• Pro features: Voice briefing, weekly/monthly analysis

3. Subscription and Payment

MARGIN offers subscription-based access with the following tiers:

• Standard: $7.99/year, includes core recognition and daily briefing
• Pro: $17.99/year, adds voice briefing and weekly/monthly analysis

All subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store and are subject to Apple's terms of service. Prices are as displayed in the App Store and may vary by region and applicable taxes.

Subscriptions automatically renew unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period. You can manage your subscription in iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

4. Free Trial

New users can enjoy a limited number of free recognition trials. After trial uses are exhausted, a subscription is required to continue using AI recognition features.

5. Refund Policy

All purchases are processed through the Apple App Store. Refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple. Please visit reportaproblem.apple.com.

6. User Data and Calendar

Regarding data handling:

• Screenshots and text you share are sent to AI services for recognition
• Original content is deleted immediately after recognition and is not stored on our servers
• Recognition results are stored only on your device locally
• Calendar write operations require your explicit confirmation; the App never auto-adds events
• If Calendar Digest is enabled, calendar reading is processed locally and not uploaded

7. Intellectual Property

The design, code, icons, and other original content of the MARGIN App are owned by the developer. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the App.

8. Usage Restrictions

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Attempt to bypass subscription validation mechanisms
• Use automated tools to abuse the AI recognition service
• Use the App for any illegal purpose

9. Disclaimer

The App is provided "as is" without any express or implied warranties. We do not guarantee:

• 100% accuracy of AI recognition results
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation of the App
• Complete compatibility with your specific device or iOS version

Therefore, the App always requires your confirmation before adding events—this is your final checkpoint.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the App, including but not limited to losses caused by missed events.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Updated terms will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App indicates your acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the People's Republic of China.
